Team Ghana Trip 2018

The Team Ghana trip this year took place during the February break. After a long process, twenty-six lucky students were selected to go. However, getting to Ghana was quite a struggle, as the flight was canceled on the first day, and on the second day, there was a mix-up, causing nine students and two chaperones to stay back and take a flight the next day. Once we were all in Ghana, the real fun started, although it came along with a lot of laborious work. The main projects this year were to paint the basketball court, paint the walls surrounding the school, organize the library, and plant trees around the outside wall of the school. Due to the warm weather and striking sun, working was very tiring and pushed the whole team to our limits. By the end of the trip, we managed to finish all our projects. Alongside those projects, we had the chance to play with the BIS students and experience the wonderful Ghanaian culture, while also getting to know our peers better outside the classroom.

Team Ghana October 2016

Team Ghana October 2016 was an incredible trip. We helped build and paint the new junior high building. We planted and worked in the gardens. We established a high functioning IT lab with new Wifi. We planted grass and took out grass in unwanted places. We removed rocks and stones from all over the campus. We were productive and had a lot of fun! Team Ghana looks forward to the February trip in 2018!

Ghana Dinner 2017

This years Ghana dinner was a real success. We had entertainment the whole night and outstanding food. Again the participants from Team Ghana helped greatly with the night by acting as waiters/waitresses, cooks, decorators, clean up crew, and running the desks for raffles and advertising things like match and more. Special thanks to Mrs Paulson and Mrs Haken for the insane work and effort they put into making the night happen!

Ghana Cup 2017

This years Ghana Cup was a blast and a success! Kids from the Team Ghana program were able to help around with parents and ZIS admins to make the day possible. It went from 8:00-5:30. Many satisfied stomachs with some great grilling thanks to Mr Sparks and Mr Caramallis!
