Dear members of the ZIS community,
Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the Ghana Cup and ExtravaGHANzA last weekend and in particular the “small army” of volunteers for making these events possible.
The Bosomtwe Community School Partnership is an ongoing commitment to a mutually beneficial educational project between the communities of ZIS and BCS, and the weekend truly reflected the project. Over 100 people attended the ExtravaGHANzA and an estimated 800 people were at the Ghana Cup. It was a fantastic way to bring our entire community together for a weekend that not only benefits BCS but is also very positive for the ZIS community – a lovely evening and fun family day which bring all campuses and ages together, builds community spirit, engages parents, provides leadership/service opportunities for students, while raising a significant amount of money to support the development of the Bosomtwe Community School. By fulfilling the ZIS mission of Learn, Care, Challenge, Lead we hope to support the BCS community and their mission of Respect, Knowledge and Independence.
The most immediate projects at BCS for the coming year will be the completion of the interior of the new classroom block and library, and the landscaping of the school grounds. The latter is out of necessity to prevent erosion rather than a simple beautification of the campus. Without this work, continued erosion in the wet season would severely damage the newly established buildings.
The final amount raised as a result of the Ghana Weekend will be announced as soon as possible. Thank you again for your support.
